Sustainability

Working side by side with Nature

Our Approach

Naturally Sustainable by Design

Shellfish farming is one of the most sustainable forms of food production, and our approach is built to enhance—not disrupt—the natural environment. Our oysters and clams require no artificial feed, relying entirely on naturally occurring phytoplankton in the clean waters of Sligo Bay.

By cultivating in intertidal zones, we work in rhythm with the tides, allowing constant water exchange to maintain healthy growing conditions. This low-impact system supports water quality, promotes biodiversity, and ensures our methods remain in balance with the surrounding ecosystem.

Responsible Growth for the Future

As we grow, sustainability remains at the core of every decision we make. From careful stock management to low-impact harvesting techniques, we are committed to protecting the long-term health of our coastal environment.

We continue to invest in traceability, monitoring, and responsible farming practices that safeguard both our product and our waters. Our goal is simple: to produce premium shellfish while preserving the environment that makes it possible—for today and for generations to come.

Our Unique Location

Our farm is located at the foot of the iconic Benbulben Mountain in Drumcliffe, overlooking Sligo Bay on Ireland’s rugged Atlantic coast. This unique landscape is shaped by powerful natural forces—tidal exchange, freshwater inflow, and rich glacial sediments that create one of the most productive coastal ecosystems in Europe.

The surrounding area is steeped in history and cultural heritage, long celebrated in Irish literature and tradition. The combination of mountain, estuary, and ocean creates an environment of exceptional purity and biological richness, ideal for shellfish cultivation.
